Learning Center

The mission of the Learning Center is to provide academic assistance to all students currently enrolled at Education and Training Center at Pitt-Titusville.  We work to develop the skills and strategies necessary for them to become confident, independent, and active life-long learners.

The Learning Center provides direct instructional academic support tailored to the skill levels and learning styles of all students.  Skills are developed by identifying strengths and weaknesses in content areas, developing strategies for improvement, and providing specific goals for success in almost any desired academic discipline.

The Learning Center also offers support in:

  • reading comprehension
  • study skills
  • test-taking strategies
  • goal setting
  • time management
  • growth mindset
  • preparation for math assessments (required for entry into certain Hub partner programs)
  • customized learning

Our Learning Center Committee offers Professional Student Development services as well.  These are free activities for students that help build professional skills and prepare them for post-secondary careers.  Events are typically held at the end of the Spring semester and include:

  • resume and cover letter workshops and editing
  • seminars on professional dress and etiquette
  • interviewing skills including mock interviews
  • elevator pitch presentation
  • other topics related to a student’s job search and transition from the academic to career environment
